All individuals holding public office in Sri Lanka are required to submit an asset and liability declaration. This includes Members of Parliament, Provincial Councilors, Local Government Members, and senior public officers. Heads of government departments, corporations, boards, and statutory bodies are also obligated. Newly appointed officials must submit the declaration within three months of assuming office. The declaration ensures transparency, accountability, and compliance with the law under the CIABOC Act.
